Family takes her off life support
Anne Heche has sadly passed away. The actress had been in a coma following a crash that she was involved in. The actress crashed her blue Mini Cooper into a home while driving down a street in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles. The home was destroyed and the actress was left in critical condition at that time.
At the time of the crash, it was said that Heche was not under the influence of alcohol but was under the influence of cocaine. According to law enforcement, she also may have possibly had fentanyl in her system. She was driving at extremely high speed, crashed into the home, and ignited the fire. She was severely burned.
She died 8/12 at an L.A. area hospital and a statement was released stating, “Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” a rep for the star tells PEOPLE in a statement on behalf of Heche’s family and friends.
“Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and fans. May she Rest In Peace.
