Dua Lipa named as honorary ambassador of Kosovo

Lipa was given the title while she was in Pristina for the Sunny Hill Festival

Dua Lipa (26) was has been named as the honorary ambassador of Kosovo. She was born in London but, both of her parents are from Kosovo. Lipa recently posted pictures on her Instagram account of her with the president of Kosovo, President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu while accepting the title.

Dua spent most of her childhood in the Balkan state and is super excited to represent her home country. She promised to use her platform to “make a difference” to the independent nation.

In a post on Instagram Presiden Osmani-Sadriu wrote: “Today, I gave the title of Honorary Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Dua Lipa, because she continues to honor our country in every step and every appearance. I thanked her, on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, for everything she has done and is making our voice hear everywhere in the world.”

“Yesterday afternoon I was awarded the title of Honourary Ambassador of Kosovo by our Madame President @vjosa.osmani,” she wrote. “It’s an honour and a privilege to be able to represent my country all over the world and to continue my work and efforts globally to see that we leave our mark and make a difference. The youth of Kosovo deserves the fight to visa liberalization, freedom to travel and to dream big. Thank you.”
