Mystikal Charged with First Degree Rape

Rapper faces 9 other criminal charges

Following his July arrest in Ascension Parish, New Orleans, Mystikal has been formally charged with first-degree rape. In July, of this year, Mystikal had been allegedly accused of domestic assault and false imprisonment charges.

Along with the charge of rape he is also charged with simple criminal damage to property, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, simple robbery, possession of heroin, illegal possession of Xanax, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to two indictments against him. The victim claims that he took her car keys and cell phone and then proceeded to forcibly rape her. This comes after he accused her of stealing $100 from him before he let her leave.

Mystikal is currently awaiting trial in the Ascension Parish jail with no bond. If convicted he could face a life sentence in prison. His attorney, Joel Pearce, states, “It’s an indictment, It means nothing. We look forward to our day in court.”

Pearce has reportedly been trying to have a hearing to reconsider the bail ruling, however there hasn’t been one set. The attorney also requested a special pre-trial hearing to examine some of the prosecutors’ cases.
