Her husband, John Esterling, stated that she died peacefully at her ranch in Southern California on Monday morning via Facebook. She has been battling breast cancer for over 30 years, but her specific cause of death has not been given.
One of her biggestest breaks came in 1978, when she starred alongside John Travolt in the hit movie “Grease.” She played the iconic roll of Sandy D. She followed up with her biggest hit son “Physical” in 1981, which stayed at the #1 spot for 10 weeks.
