Sha’Carri Richardson Wins Over Olympic Champ Elaine Thompson-Herah

Sha’Carri wins the women’s 100M

Let’s goooooo Sha’Carri! Even on a wet track, she managed to win with a score of 11.29 seconds, just 0.01sec ahead of Olympic champion Thompson-Herah. Sha’Carri hasn’t competed since the end of June and she won the Spitzen Leichtathletik meeting, a World Athletics Continental Tour silver meet in Lucerne, Switzerland, on Tuesday.

Richardson and Thompson-Herah were placed in adjacent lanes and it was as if they were near neck-and-neck the entire race. Richarson and Thompson-Herah have raced before at the Prefontaine Classic in 2021 and 2022, where Richardson lost to the two-time champion.

Richardson has not raced since June, when she did not qualify to be at the US championships in Eugene, Ore. We look forward to seeing her race in the short near future, against world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce on Friday, in the 100 meters at the Memorial Van Damme Diamond League meeting in Brussels.
