Tory Lanez’s New Prison Raises Concerns

Tory Lanez, the Canadian rapper, recently began serving his 10-year prison sentence for the July 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He was transferred to North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, a medium-security facility located approximately 145 miles north of Los Angeles. The prison houses around 4,000 inmates and serves as a reception center for new prisoners in the California state prison system. However, recent incidents have left fans worried about Lanez’s safety.

North Kern State Prison has garnered attention for its history of violent and deadly incidents in recent months, adding to concerns about Lanez’s well-being. In February, an inmate named Ramon Escobar (51) allegedly strangled his cellmate, Juan Villanueva, to death, resulting in a first-degree murder charge. Escobar was already serving multiple life sentences for previous murder convictions, while Villanueva was incarcerated for aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14.

In July, another inmate, Ricardo Saldivar, was found dead in his cell, and his death is under investigation as a homicide by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Violent incidents have also occurred between inmates and correctional officers. This week, a former inmate and convicted sex offender was found guilty of attacking two guards during a drug search in July 2020. In a separate incident back in 2015, a guard was shot while walking in the yard, although authorities believe the shots came from outside the prison walls.

The Daily Mail reports that racial and gang tensions are prevalent within the prison, with two prominent gangs being the SureƱos and Paisas. This environment has raised concerns among Tory Lanez’s fanbase.

Many of Tory Lanez’s supporters have taken to social media to express their worries about his safety in light of these incidents. Some fans have shared their concerns and prayers for his well-being, while others have speculated about the challenges he may face inside the prison.

Tory Lanez’s new prison home, North Kern State Prison, has a troubled history marked by violent incidents and a challenging environment. As the rapper begins his 10-year sentence, fans remain concerned about his safety and well-being within the facility. Lanez, who has consistently maintained his innocence, faces a tough road ahead, but his determination to overcome adversity remains unwavering.
